It's been a long while since Diablo III was first released to the public but that hasn't stopped Blizzard from gearing up for the game's first official expansion.
With Gamescom right around the corner, Blizzard has wasted no time in stirring up hype for an impending Diablo III-related reveal which many are speculating will be the game’s first official expansion.
Despite being a little over a year old, Diablo III has seen a steady current of tweaks and updates from Blizzard but now it looks like the developer is getting ready to unleash a full-fledged expansion thanks to some of the recent teases they’ve been sending out.
Yesterday it was discovered that Blizzard registered a new trademark for something called “The Dark Below” and today they’ve leaked a new teaser image (seen above) which references both the Book of Tyrael and something called the “Reaper of Souls.” The latter reference is also the name of a new teaser site which Blizzard launched early this morning.
We’ll have to wait until Gamescom for more info but if you’re a Diablo III fan who’s itching to once again take the fight to Diablo’s hellish hordes, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer.
