Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has explained why Nintendo will likely never develop games for other platforms.
Iwata was also careful to clarify that his stance was based on more than just making a profit:
"What I believe is that Nintendo is a very unique company, because it does its business by designing and introducing people to hardware and software - by integrating them, we can be unique. And because we have hardware and software developers in the same building, they stimulate each other.”
Despite struggling Wii U sales, Iwata is confident that Nintendo will continue to thrive and will continue to create new innovations within the gaming landscape. The company still saw a strong first quarter of sales thanks mainly to the growing popularity of their 3DS handheld system.
