Bioshock Infinite players who sprung for the game's season pass have finally been rewarded for their patience with details on the DLC content, the first of which is available today.
Set in 1958, Burial At Sea re-imagines protagonist Booker DeWitt as a private investigator working in Rapture. He soon meets an older, wiser, and more confident version of Elizabeth who’s now portrayed as more of a femme fatale than an innocent young woman. Interestingly enough, the first part of Burial At Sea won’t actually contain any combat but will instead focus on Booker’s investigative and exploration skills. He and Elizabeth will have to work together to uncover the sinister machinations of Andrew Ryan and Levine promises there will be plenty of Rapture-specific cameos along the way.
In another surprising twist, part 2 of Burial At Sea, which has Booker and Elizabeth venturing into a sunken prison section of Rapture and battling against the familiar splicer enemies, actually has players stepping into Elizabeth’s shoes as a playable character. Elizabeth isn’t quite the hardened gun handler that Booker is but she can instead utilize new “plasmid/vigor” traps along with her familiar tears to both support Booker and fight back against the splicers.
Clash in the Clouds is available now for $5 and the first part of Burial At Sea will be available later this year (part 2 is expected to come out in early 2014 but Irrational has neither confirmed nor denied such speculation) with each part costing $15 apiece. Season pass holders will naturally receive all this content for free.
