Bioshock Infinite players who sprung for the game's season pass have finally been rewarded for their patience with details on the DLC content, the first of which is available today.
After a few cryptic Twitter teases from Irrational Games mastermind Ken Levine, the developer has finally pulled back the curtain on what the Bioshock Infinite season pass DLC will entail.
The first piece of DLC content, which is available today on all platforms, might not be exactly what fans were hoping for but it still looks fun. Titled “Clash in the Clouds”, the DLC is basically an arena/horde-style mode in which players must battle their way through waves of enemies across four different maps.
Cash earned during combat can be spent in-between waves on new guns, vigors, and pieces of gear as well as new collectables such as exclusive concept art pieces, behind-the-scenes videos, 3D character models, and other goodies. Skylines, tears, and special “Blue Ribbon” challenges (randomized wave-specific objectives such as using a specific gun or scoring a certain number of headshots) keep the combat fresh and help keep players glued to their seats without having to worry about all that frilly story stuff.
If frilly story stuff *is* more your thing, then the season pass’s second two DLC offerings will definitely be right up your alley. “Burial At Sea” will take players back down to Rapture, the underwater city from Bioshock 1 and 2, for an alternate-reality noire-style story that is actually set before the catastrophic events of the first two Bioshock games.
