Most things get better with age and the Madden franchise is no exception.
The EA Software Showcase in New York City wasn’t just for NHL14/94, They were also showing off the latest Madden football game, Madden 25. This installment is the 25th anniversary in the series and will have Barry Sanders on the cover. I was able to give the game a test run and it doesn’t disappoint, so let’s get right into it.
The limited demo was the only game play mode available at the event and the rest was videos showing what was different. I wanted to play as my New York Jets, but there were set match-ups for the demo. First up was Seattle and Green Bay. It appears my Madden skills were a little rusty because Mr. Rodgers in Green Bay lit me up but I’m sure he has done that to a lot of people. Once you’ve been playing for a while, you pick up the controls pretty quick. The game gives you the option of picking your own plays or suggests a play for you to run. The game looks great and the Infinity Engine has a lot to do with that. You can see each player’s emotional response to making a big play!
I faired better in my next session when I played as the Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s amazing what a good team will do for a player as I scored quite a few TDs with the running game of Ray Rice and Joe Flacco passing the ball over the field.
