Nintendo looks to be in good hands with their upcoming Wii U and 3DS lineups.

Next up is the game Wii Party U which plays like a board game and a party game at the same time. There will be 80 new mini games that can be played by a wide range of people. You’ll also be able to plays certain games with the Game Pad, which will probably be used more in party games. Expect Wii Party U to be out sometime in October. Wii Fit U was mentioned and Mr. Iwata stated that Nintendo wanted more time for the game. They stated that it won’t be released until December. However, it was revealed that the female trainer from Wii Fit will be a combatant in the new Smash Brothers games. This info was mentioned at the end of the Media presentation at E3 for Nintendo but I felt this was a good time to mention it.

Nintendo relies on their 3rd party support to help them succeed and this time around, it looks like Nintendo will have plenty of 3rd party support. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Rayman Legends, Disney Infinity, and Watch Dogs are just some of what Nintendo has planned for their 3rd party support but this looks like a pretty good list of games.  Fans of the eShop shouldn’t worry since Nintendo isn’t forgetting about you guys. Games like Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Ducktales Remastered and Shovel Knight are just some of the games that will be coming to the eShop in the future.

If It’s one thing Nintendo has going for it, it is that they’re creative. Just look at what they did to the Wind Waker to allow Miiverse connectivity. In the Game Cube version players received the Tingle Tuner to connect with the Game Boy Advance but the Wii U can’t do that. Once you get the Tingle Bottle in the Wii U version of WW, you’ll be able to receive Miiverse messages. They will wash up on the shoreline in the bottle.

Dixie Kong is back in the newest Donkey Kong Country game: Tropical Freeze. The island has been taken over by Vikings and it’s up to Donkey and the Kongs to get rid of them. Game plays pretty much like DKC Returns did but it’s in HD and it looks great. There is so much detail that you can see each strand of DK body hair.

Smash Brothers is a game that everyone knows and practically everyone plays. There will be two versions this time around; one for the Wii U and one for the 3DS, but you already knew that, didn’t you. New characters have been revealed in this direct and one is an odd choice and the other should have been in the game years ago. I’m talking about the Villager from Animal Crossing and Mega Man.  The Village seems like an odd choice but so did Mr. Game and Watch and R.O.B. at the start too. You can put the Wii Fit trainer in that mix as well but it’s weird choices like this that make Nintendo great. You never know what they’re going to but you do know they will come ready to fight as well as trying to but their best foot forward.
