New info revealed about Pokémon X and Y. Mr. Ishihara and Junichi Masuda provide answers to Media questions.

Near the tail end of the Day one here at E3, Nintendo had a developer roundtable session pertaining to Pokémon and the new X and Y versions coming out this October. X and Y are the first games to be released everywhere at the same time and it was revealed that Masuda and the rest of Game Freak has dreamed of everyone starting their journey at the same time. Pokémon goes the way of the Nintendo hardware. A brief history of the series was mentioned and the most interesting bit of info from the history lesson was that the Game Boy specs weren’t up to trading but Game Freak really wanted to be able to connect and thus the trading and the link cable for the original games.

The screen that is shown when you start the game was revealed at the roundtable. It was shown that trainers will be able to ride Rhyhorn on a mountain area in addition to the already known Gogoat. The interesting part of the trailer was that the male trainer was shown traveling on a bike as well as grinding a stairwell railing. It has been known that in Gold and Silver, the developers wanted to put a skateboard in as well as a bike and now it looks like they finally gave the players a different mode of transportation.

The upcoming games will be available in seven languages and you can pick the language you want to play. The game is going to be “ connected at all times.” Now you’re probably asking yourself “ what does that mean?” Well, I’ll tell you! Pokémon will be connected with all players at all times. You’ll have two options to pick from, either Local Wireless Connection or the Always Connected Wi-Fi option. The surface will be called the P.S.S or Player Search System. On the touch screen, you’ll three sections, Passerby, Acquaintances, and Friends. Passerby is a person that you only have one interaction with them. If you have multiple interactions with the person, they will become a acquaintance and in the future a friend. If you don’t live in a heavily populated area, you’ll be able to connect with people online all the time so there will always be someone to interact with.
