The most recent Nintendo Direct had the feel of an E3 presentation and it looked like Nintendo was treating it like their E3.
Not much is known about the new Yoshi’s Island but if it is anything like the Super Nintendo version, we will be in business. However, if it plays more like the DS version, a game filled with gimmicks such as different babies and said baby having a different ability, we might be in trouble. From what was shown, it looks like more of homage to the good old days of Super Nintendo so fans of the series rejoice. As long as Yoshi still shoots eggs, and they already showed it, I’ll be happy. Also if I can touch fuzzies and get dizzy, I will be a happy camper.
I can tell you one of the things that caught me by surprise during the Nintendo Direct was the Earthbound announcement. I never expected to hear that the game is finally going to be playable in the States and I’m looking forward to it. I never had a chance to play it in the initial run on the SNES and I can’t wait to get to play it. I have heard so much about it, especially the music, and I’m a sucker for good video game music and I can’t wait to hear how the music stacks up against my favorite music. Speaking of Virtual Console games, The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, will be coming out soon on the eShop and they are at the top of my list of games that have to be played. I missed out on them the first time and I then grabbed them for my older brother as a Christmas gift a few years ago but that’s the only interaction I have with them and have been waiting a long time to give these a shot!
Bugs Vs Tanks, from the creative mind of Mega Man master Keiji Inafune, has a simple concept behind it. You control a World War 2 tank that has been miniaturized in the fight against giant bugs. Sounds pretty cool to me. It could be that the bugs are grown but you won’t find that out until you can play the game.
