Those picking up God of War Ascension today in hopes of playing The Last Of Us Demo will be disappointed.

Those gamers who were looking forward to playing The Last Of Us demo with the release of God of War Ascension will have to wait a little longer. Even though the ad inside the game cover for God Of War Ascension says May 7, the demo has been pushed back to May 31, 2013.

Gamers will be disappointed to see this instead of the demo.

When players reach God of War Ascension’s main menu screen, they will be able to select The Last Of Us demo. There will be no voucher code in the game cover. Once selected, players will be taken to a countdown clock that will be counting down to the release of the demo.

This may become as a bit of a disappointment to players, as the promise of this demo surely assisted in in driving pre-orders for God of War Ascension. Developers Naughty Dog, the company behind such hits as the Uncharted series, pushed back the release of The Last Of Us to June 14, 2013 for further improvements and polish.

Players will have to wait to experience the world of The Last Of Us.

To possibly make up for this, Sony has included the two new DLC character releases for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Zeus from the God Of War Saga and Isaac Clarke from the Dead Space franchise are available with the game via a voucher code included in the cover of the game. This is awesome considering you were one of the few who bought Playstation All Stars Battle Royale. If that isn’t enough, the game will also include demos for Flower, the God of War Origins Collection, Journey, Little Big Planet Karting, Sly Cooper Thieves In Time, Sound Shapes, Starhawk, Unfinished Swan, and the aforementioned Playstation All Stars Battle Royale.

Players will recive a DLC voucher for Playstation All Stars featuring Zeus and Isaac Clarke as well as a slew of demos in place of The Last Of Us.

In hopes to tide you over, check out this awesome gameplay footage and be prepared to experience the Last Of Us on May 31.
