The best StarCraft II gamers in the world converged in Shanghai, China for the first-ever Battle.net World Championship (BWC) in Shanghai, China. PartinG emerged victorious when all was said and done.
During the World Championship Series, players in over 30 regions had a local platform to prove their StarCraft II prowess and earn a spot in each of their regional championships. Players who placed at the top of their regional championships were invited to continental finals, to battle neighboring champions for seeds into the grand culmination of the series: the StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Finals, which was held at the 2012 Battle.net World Championship in Shanghai, China.
The Global Finals featured two days of grueling competition, pitting player against player in a fight for fame and fortune on a world-sized stage. While 32 of the greatest StarCraft II players on the planet gave everything they had to rise above the competition, only one player – PartinG –conquered all and took home the trophy.
