Love letter to classic SNES games like Mega Man X!
It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Super Alloy Crush on Steam. This game is giving off major Mega Man X vibes and that's a good thing!
For the demo, you could pick between Muu and Kelly. I went with Muu because she's a total babe! AND her play style is more my style. She uses mech claws to attack close range. Kelly, on the other hand, uses ranged attacks/firearms. The minute I saw this game on steam, I knew I wanted to play as Muu so here we are!
You'll be able to have customization options in terms of attacks/skills. You can also find support bots in levels that you'll have to free. Do that and you'll be able to add them to your team and use their skills. One might have healing powers where another could have power-ups. You'll just have to find them and see.
I love the way this game looks. It really feels like a love letter to classic SNES games like Mega Man X and it hits it out of the park. I was playing the story mode for the demo/video but there are other modes in the game as well. You'll be able to play this game with roguelike elements. I also like being able to string combo attacks together for more damage. One thing that would be nice to have is a map in the story mode. I was exploring everything but I didn''t want to go too far one way and then find out I couldn't go back the other. It would have been nice to be able to see everything, map-wise, but I get if the game has some roguelike elements why there is no map.
You'll have to deal with boss encounters but lucky for you, you can upgrade your skills/moves. I was talking about a lack of a map prior, but you will want to explore everywhere you can so you have supplies, currency and stuff. More stuff means for things you can find.I'm super excited for Super Alloy Crush as I'm a huge Mega Man X fan. Fingers crossed that it will come to consoles.
Make sure you check out the hands-on video below!
