My Bed Wants to Sleep With Me!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at Date Everything on the Nintendo Switch.

I remember seeing information about Date Everything and knew I wanted to check it out. It's an interesting take on the visual novel genre. It's your first day on the job and all is going well until the boss tells you you're a casualty of budget cuts. That should give you more time to mess around right? Well you get contacted by a mysterious character who sends you an interesting package in the mail. You open the package and find a new pair of sun glasses inside. Those are your Dateviator sun glasses; so clever by the way. Those give you the ability to interact with practically everything in your house. From your bed to your clothes hamper, if you can set your eyes on it, you can chat it up. You can become friends with your accessories, try and date them, or have them hate you. It's up to you but stay away from my bed, I call dibs on my bed!

Date everything has a star-studded voice cast. I'm not going to spoil any of the cast for you but from what I interacted with, each actor/actress was the perfect fit as their character. You have a Pokedex like catalogue called the Date a Dex that keeps track of all your potential dates. It also tells you the voice actor who played the role and I think that's a nice touch. It allows you to know who voiced your favorite characters.

There are quest-like missions that will help you discover new dateable items in your house. These quests can range from very simple to very intricate. You might just have to talk to the couch in one room for one quest and then figure out who is hitting on the fridge in another mission. You'll be able to interact with dates by picking the answer you want to go with. You can go right into asking for a date or you can get to know who you're trying to hook up with. Another interesting feature is that the game tells you if things are going to get a little too spicy or intense based on what type of character you're talking to. You can skip it if things hit too close to home or jump right into the fray.

You can leave your house whenever you want but just know that ends the playthrough. You will want to stick it out for as long as it takes so you can discover all the potential love, or hate, in your house. There are a lot of potential suitors in your house so get some sleep, you'll need it. Don't tell my parents but my Bed wants to sleep with me!
