Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, and something called Metroid, I think.

All eyes were on Nintendo at the Electronics and Entertainment Expo this morning before the doors at the Convention Center even opened and they didn’t disappoint with their E3 Spotlight video. Time for the recap!

The E3 Spotlight video started off strong for Nintendo when they showed off more information for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. You play the main character trying to find Elysium in the RPG. Put this on your Christmas list because it comes out for the holiday season. The first real surprise came in the form of a Kirby game that looked a lot like Return to Dream Land. Kirby can take control of enemies by hitting them with hearts and then use the attacks in bigger combo attacks. 2018 is when to expect this.

Two more juicy pieces of information dropped during the spotlight in the form of a mainstream Pokémon game being developed for Switch and Metroid Prime 4. Nothing was shown for either game but both were games that fans have wanted for sometime and Metroid fans have been asking for anything for years. It got better for Metroid fans after at Treehouse Live with the announcement that Metroid: Samus Returns for 3DS is Metroid 2 remade. Throw in a new Yoshi game that looks like Woolly World and you have some happy Nintendo fans and it doesn’t stop there.

Details for the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC was revealed such as the Master Trial release date being June 30. The Champions Ballad is the second DLC and that’s coming out for the holiday season. The four champions from Breath of the Wild will be getting the Amiibo treatment so be on the lookout for those in the future!

I’ll end with two games: Rocket League on Switch for the holidays and Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle for Switch. Rocket League will have custom Nintendo items such as a Mario hat as well as cross platform matches. The Mario+Rabbids is part tactical, part exploration and will release on August 29.

Fans of Nintendo should be pretty excited for everything coming out in the future. I know I’m looking forward to Super Mario Odyssey, the Pokémon game on Switch, Yoshi, Kirby. I want to change my answer to all of it!
