Sony Entertainment today brought out a new online store in the US/Canada/Brazil that will allow Playstation Network/Sony Entertainment Network users to buy things (games/movies/TV shows) from the comfort of the internet. The service easy to navigate content pages and has tons of downloadable content. If it isn’t an update for your favorite game, it could be a TV show or content for that show. Playstation users who buy something from the new store on a PC/Mac will have it added to the “My Downloads “section of the Playstation Store. They can then download it right to whichever Sony system they choose. You can also get TV shows and movies and watch them on your Media Go app or Sony Xperia smartphones and tablets.
The new online store follows the “update” of the PS Store for the PS3. Sony appears to be remake the user experience and this is a good start. Players can look forward to updates to the shop every so often and they can look forward to a recommendations section to the shop as well as remote downloading. Also players can add funds to their “wallets” through their paypal accounts, which is great. If Sony is going to have the ability to buy online, why shouldn’t you be able to put more money into it online?
