Despite a few glitches and inconsistencies, you won't find a better comic book romp this holiday season.

"Behold. Doctor Doom's Doom Ray…of Doom!" When a supervillain announces a weapon like that, you're either a. watching a rerun of an Austin Powers movie, where Dr. Evil nefariously announces the Alan Parsons Project, or b. taking part in the delightful Lego Marvel Super Heroes, the latest Lego-ized effort from TT Fusion.

Before you go off and mumble about how Lego games never change, hold your horses. Marvel Super Heroes actually offers the deepest experience to date, one that'll entertain both kids and comic book fans of all ages with its fun storyline, its predictable but joyous laughs, and its abundance of playable characters, heroes and villains alike.

Doctor Doom, as mentioned above, goes searching for "cosmic bricks" as they'll power his Doom Ray of Doom, and the Marvel universe sets out to stop him. But he's merely a small piece of the villainous puzzle, as Galactus, the planet-eating Goliath, eventually shows up, posing a greater threat than anyone could've imagined. I won't spoil the story, but, yes, it's told in humorous Lego fashion. Hardly the same level as Whedon's Avengers, but, really, what is?
