It's hardly for comic book fans, but those who love the show will happily indulge.
Those expecting a hardcore Marvel battle will be disappointed – this is Phineas and Ferb, after all. But this does set the stage for some good laughs from the crew, whether it's MODOK having trouble getting into a doorway or Red Skull getting pelted by waffles. The heroes have some fun as well, especially as Thor tries to explain how his Hammer works to Iron Man. Take it as a light-hearted tale and you'll have fun.
The DVD isn't too big on extras, but at least it looks nice. The animation is clean and fun to watch, and the voicework is quite good, even if none of the original Avengers actors are filling the roles. No matter. As for extras, there are no behind-the-scenes items to watch, but you can partake in some extra Phineas and Ferb episodes. You can't go wrong with those.
While Mission Marvel hardly counts as quintessential comic book entertainment – The Avengers it ain't – it's a good time for Phineas and Ferb fans, or for those who always wondered what a Marvel villain looks like ringing a doorbell and running away. EVIL!
