This innovative platformer won't string you along.

Story normally takes a back seat in games like this, but Puppeteer tells a breathtaking tale, one filled with surprises and memorable characters. Ying-Yang, a cat who helps you upon your start, will assist in finding additional heads – which you'll need to stay alive – while telling a bunch of "meow"-related puns. He's soon upstaged by Pikarina, a sun princess with a lot of spunk behind her. And these are just some of the characters you'll find in the first couple of hours…

Gameplay consists of classic platforming overtones – jumping over obstacles and discovering hidden Moon gems for an extra life – but there are also some great new wrinkles in the fold here. The scissions not only act as a good offensive tool against enemies, but also get you across gaps made up of string, and can lend a hand in defeating cloth-covered bosses. The controls show innovation throughout the game, and will thus keep you intrigued till the very end.

There's also a good secondary option with your aides, whether you're with Pikarina or Ying-Yang. The right analog stick controls them across the screen, mostly to look for hidden Moon gems or heads that make your character stand out a bit – like the infamous Burger head. Controlling two characters at once can be odd at times, but it never gets to the point of frustration.
