Can you resist the bloodlust while playing? Find out in our review!

Fun. The gameplay is fun. The game focuses on hack and slash combat that uses counter attacks to gain the upper fang (another bad pun, I know).  You choose two companions to accompany on your mission. Tapping the screen and swiping back and fourth your can attack and doge your opponent. Doing so successfully builds up a super meter on screen that allows you to tap into your vampire side and unleash a deadly and powerful attack. While I found the action beginning to lag at times, it did not deter from the experience. This is a game that while available on smart phones is better played on a tablet due to the space you will need to stake the blood bandit in the chest.

Bloodmasque also looks impressive on tablets. Unreal Engine powers the game and it shows. The battles are great and once the vampires’ true nature is revealed, they appear to have crawled straight out of your nightmares. The game does lag at times due to these detailed graphics but it is almost unnoticeable. The dialogue used in the game is also a little corny. Thankfully, it’s laughable and only adds to the enjoyment of the experience.

Bloodmasque is a very fun and intriguing game. Playing as the hybrid hunter that you can customize with your face is great fun. The gameplay is familiar and addictive. The game takes the best of RPGs and the best of hack and slash and presents them in a fun and interesting way. This is one game that deserves to be pulled from the shadows and thrust into the spotlight. This game is definitely worth your download.

Score: 7 / 10
