It's not for everyone, but fans of import shooters will definitely want to give it a download.
The audio's pretty over-the-top on adorableness as well. The Japanese voices remain intact, and while some are cool, others are a bit too screechy for their own good. ("LET'S GO!") The music is good, but not quite fitted with what's happening with the on-screen action. You won't mind, though – just don't expect a handful of masterful tracks.
Mamorukun comes with a variety of modes to choose from, though mostly you'll still just be shooting through the same stages. For some, though, that'll be enough, especially with the variety of characters on hand. If it's more variety you seek, you might want to hunt down Sine Mora instead.
In the end, Mamorukun Curse! is a rather acquired taste. If you've spent a good deal of time expanding a shooter collection to the point that you've run out of shelf space, this is a must-buy. If you're a curious casual player getting into the genre for the first time, you may want to watch gameplay videos first. Me? I'm more than happy to add this to my collection, even though some more stages and bosses would've been easily welcomed.
Hey, at least I'm not cursed. "CURSE!"
