Is this version better thant he console version? Find out in our review!

We have all had that feeling. The feeling of leaving a movie theater completely energized from a summer blockbuster. While trying to plan the sequel in our heads, a small part of us want to be able to experience and become involved in the world the movie created. We then remember the last horrible movie tie-in game that we played, and realize that it just isn’t possible. Fear not true believers, there is hope. Mobile games based on summer movies recently have been surprisingly good. Man of Steel was a true surprise as it focused on the elements of the movie that fans wanted to experience. Pacific Rim: The Mobile Game has emerged and it attempts to recreate the successful mobile experience of the movie. Does the game succeed or is it dead in the water? Find out in our review!

The presentation of Pacific Rim: The Mobile Game is very well done. We reviewed the game on the iPad and it looks great. When entering campaign mode, your iPad screen is transformed into a military hub detailing locations of Kaiju. This screen also allows you to enhance your Jaeger and visit the Black Market for parts. The game also features likeness of the actors from the movie. When the combat begins, I was blown away by the detail. The graphics are not setting new standards, but I was impressed at the detail shown on the iPad’s screen. The Jaegers and Kaiju look great and is surprisingly better than the console version. The over the shoulder camera view focuses on the characters on screen and not on the environment, which lacks detail. The combat animations also look very impressive on mobile devices.
