Two of Hayao Miyazaki's finest films couldn't look or sound any better.
As far as supplements go, you won't find an audio commentary or any long-term making of features, but you will find original Japanese storyboards, which are quite cool, along with small vignettes that talk about voiceovers, locations, and, on Moving Castle, Miyazaki paying a visit to Pixar, which is rather neat. I'm sure the staff got a kick out of seeing him that day. (John Lasseter of Pixar played a HUGE part in getting the deal done between Disney and Ghibli.)
Both My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle represent Miyazaki and his team at their best, telling some magical tales while, at the same time, creating an art style that has since been long gone in the House of Mouse. Here's hoping the trend continues – and, for that matter, we see Spirited Away and maybe even Miyazaki's debut effort, The Castle of Cagliostro, hit Blu-Ray soon.
