The Yoda Chronicles is a disapointment. FInd out why in our review.

The Lego games have a long history of appealing both to adults and children alike. The family friendly and fun gameplay has seen many iterations. From Harry Potter to the D.C. Universe, there is a Lego videogame for everyone. While all the games have achieved popularity, the Lego Star Wars games have become a true fan favorite. Now, Lego Star Wars is invading mobile devices with Lego Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles. How strong is the force with this one? Find out in our review!

Yoda should be ashamed to be a part of this titile.

The Yoda Chronicles allows you to choose between the Jedi and Sith factions as soon as the game begins. While this option should open up different gameplay possibilities, it is no more than a cosmetic distraction. No matter what side you choose, the game plays exactly the same. This is a huge disappointment due to the possibilities that choices could present to both the story and the gameplay.

The gameplay in The Yoda Chronicles is absolutely horrible. The game plays more like a real time strategy game than anything else. The touch controls are clunky at best. The point of Lego games have always been to build and destroy. In this game, instead of building vehicles to help you, you have to buy them. The combat mechanics in the game are also a complete let down. You are simply moving in a singular direction and tapping your enemies to take them out. The gameplay is frustrating and unbearable.

This game is a disappointment to both the Star Wars and Lego names.

The Yoda Chronicles is Lego game only by name. While the videos that tell the story are entertaining, it is not enough to save the game. The controls, gameplay, and top down perspective are frustrating. It is great when an established brand takes a risk, but The Yoda Chronicles stray to far left from what makes the games great.
