TIDY! Don't miss this breathtaking adventure.
But if there's a real charming aspect to Ni No Kuni, it's definitely the presentation. You can feel the Studio Ghibli aspect throughout the production, with colorful, detailed visuals throughout both the cinemas and in-game action. It looks like a high-end anime production, and each new character you meet make their mark in some fashion, whether it's the spiritual little girl that you run into in the beginning of your journey, or the weird familiars that pop up midway through. The stage layouts stretch out beyond the means of your imagination, creating a startling world that you wish would never end. It's a visual wonder.
The voice acting is quite good, too. This isn't "dialed in" like most RPG's, but well thought out and processed. Oliver sounds very loyal to his character, and Drippy, with his strong Welsh accent ("TIDY!") is hilarious and endearing at the same time. Other characters really lend a hand with their parts as well. The music is nothing short of fantastic, and the sound effects deliver the goods on their end.
Every aspect of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch just feels and looks about perfect. Again, the game's learning curve may have a few people grumbling about when something "good" will happen, but if you stick with it, its world slowly but surely opens up, and Oliver's journey becomes even more fantastic with each new step you take. This one is well worth digging into – one of this generation's best RPG's, period.
