Can's these two ever get along?
The story of Sonic The Fighters is a simple one. Dr. Eggman (a.k.a. Robotnik) has built the Death Egg II in an attempt to take over the world. He has also created Metal Sonic in order to ensure his victory. Tails builds a ship called the Lunar Fox in order to stop Dr. Eggman’s newest plan. The only problem is the 8 Chaos Emeralds that are in the possession of Dr. Eggman’s worst enemies power the ship and the ship only has one seat. A tournament is then held in order to determine who will be the one to defeat Dr. Eggman. I think this a great use of the Sonic mythos. It provides a adequate set-up, but does not get to convoluted. At the end of the day in a fighting game the story does not matter, it’s all about the gameplay.
