Should Angry Birds Star Wars have been left in a galaxy far far away? Find out in out review.
The gameplay in Angry Birds Star Wars starts as you would expect. You fling your screaming birds towards the pigs to try to take them out. The gameplay changes when you learn to use the force. Every character as their own power that changes the gameplay. Luke has his lightsaber, Han has his laser pistol, and Obie Wan uses force push to take out the portly Stormtroopers. There are even bonus levels where icons R2-D2 and C-3PO take center stage. This attention to detail brings some fresh strategy and replay ability to the franchise and is a welcomed edition.
The inside of the Death Star.
Angry Birds Star Wars is a fun game. Anyone who was worried about the use of the Star Wars license should give it a try. It is a true love letter to the famous franchise. The only negative is the massive amounts of paid content that is required to play the game. While Tatooine is free, the Path of the Jedi level is mostly paid. While Hoth is coming as a free download, Angry Birds Star Wars seems that it is lacking content at launch. Chances are though, if you are a true fan of either of these franchises, you will be paying for the extra content. Angry Birds Star Wars is so great that it makes me wish for other crossovers in the future. The force is strong with this one and if you don’t agree, then maybe you should join the Sith.
