Samsung Galaxy Note II, $150 with 2-year service plan, $600 unlocked
Apple gets all the media attention, and while the iPads are great gaming tablets, they’re expensive and eliminate Flash-based gaming and other freebies that Android tablets embrace. Samsung has had great success with its Galaxy Note line of mini tablets, and for good reason. The 5.5-inch Samsung Super AMOLED panel boasts vibrant colors at a resolution of 1280 x 720p when playing the latest mobile games or watching movies. The 8 megapixel camera on the back captures gorgeous quality pictures, especially in daylight, as well as 1080p video. There’s also a 1.9 megapixel front camera for video calling. If you want a smaller-sized tablet that’s very portable, you can’t go wrong with this one.
