Ubisoft is throwing their hat into the fitness game with Shape Up

During their E3 presentation, Ubisoft challenged gamers to ditch the old, boring workouts and jumpstart their routines with the new video game Shape Up. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Ubisoft Barcelona, Shape Up will be available worldwide exclusively on Kinect for Xbox One the week of November 9th.

Shape Up combines a foundation of proven fitness methods with entertaining and rewarding workout routines displayed in a unique arcade style. Each of the three game modes keeps players engaged and motivated with quirky, points-driven fitness challenges. The Quick Play Mode features 90-second rapid-fire training bursts that turn the chore of working out into an exciting experience. These quick fitness activities include 12 practice sessions for a more intense focus on muscle building and cardio, with the guidance of in-game coaches for better efficiency. The Training Quest Mode blends those exciting challenges together into individual 4-week programs that target increased lean body mass and reducing body fat. Each quest is designed to take gamers on an epic adventure for 45 minutes each week and ends with a final boss battle as the ultimate workout reward.

“Workouts can be mundane so it was a real challenge to adapt all of these crazy activities into exercises that are truly effective,” said Charles Huteau, Creative Director of Shape Up. “Shape Up is set to revolutionize fitness games by proving that the more fun you have while working out, the longer you’ll stick with it to achieve better results.”
