He's a rogue!

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at the Rogue Prince of Persia on the Nintendo Switch 2.A Heads up, you can get this game in digital form as well as a physical copy!

Let me start out by saying that you have to create a Ubisoft account to play the Rogue Prince of Persia. You can't get passed the start-up screen without either creating or logging into your account. I didn't have an issue with it, but some people might so now you know.

You play the role of the Prince of Persia, trying to figure out what is going on. With the help of his ally, Paachi, you find out that things have taken a terrible turn against the Huns. Paachi is the reason why you are still alive but what of your family. As you enter different locations, you might be able to find clues as to their whereabouts.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a roguelike game where you can find different weapons/skills/artefacts as well as new locations as you explore. A cool feature is that you can find new locations during a ruin and have them added to the pool of locations. That way, during a new run, you can have new locations. I think that's a cool idea because sometimes in roguelikes, the game can feel monotonous at times. Having things like that change up the feel of a run.

You can also find new weapons and skills in a location as well. Another cool feature is that you can find currency from killing enemies/hidden and then when you enter a new location, you have the option to send all of it back to base. That way, when you die in battle, you won't lose your money. This game is tough st times, and you'll have cool abilities/weapons to use. I really love the fact that you can run up walls to give yourself an added boost. Another cool feature is that when you perform acrobatics properly, you'll gain a speed boost. You also have a kick attack where you can actually kick enemies out of the way. You can also kick rocks/enemies into enemies that have shields. That's the way you can break said shield. In games like this, I try to go with quick attacks and the double blade weapon was a good start. I found a large sword with a combo move further into one of my runs. I also liked the charm I found that added slime to my kicks that could slow enemies down. Being able to get the upper hand in combat is crucial. You will have to deal with bosses as well throughout your runs. Learn their attack patterns and you should be ok. I had a tough time with the first major boss so maybe you'll have a better time than I did.

You'll also be able to find people that can come back to the Oasis. The Oasis is like your hub area where you can buy new things, upgrade skills and get the lay of the land. You will want to look out for people because these subjects will help make runs easier for you.

Overall, the Rogue Prince of Persia is a cool idea to add something to a franchise like the Prince of Persia. Fans of roguelikes and the Prince of Persia series will want to check it out. Make sure you check out the hands-on video below!
