Yoshi has the task of protecting out favorite little plumber from harm.
Yoshi and Baby Mario are back and this time Yoshi is taking out the big guns. Big eggs might be more precise as Yoshi can create Eggdozers to crash through the landscape and the Metal Eggdozer can roll over enemies and roll underwater. Yoshi and Mario will try their best to rescue Luigi from the new island. Combine that with Yoshi being able to transform into different vehicles and you have the charm the SNES version had.
“Yoshi’s New Island will appeal to fans of the previous Yoshi’s Island games, but also to younger gamers who are experiencing the series for the first time,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With Yoshi’s New Island, the slate of 2014 Nintendo 3DS games is off to an excellent start.”
The new island has 6 levels to explore and Yoshi and Mario will have to bring their A game if they want to get through each one alive. The different transformations are controlled by the gyro-sensors in the 3DS and will take skill to master. Grab a star to transform into Super Yoshi where Yoshi can run on walls/ceilings or the Flutter Wings, that allow Yoshi to fly. After beating the single player version of the game, the multiplayer mini games are unlocked and you can play the games with your friends. A special 3DS that is Yoshi-centric is launching with the game so if you need a new 3DS and love Yoshi, this is for you.
