A new trailer for Frictional Games' upcoming title Soma shows of the game's creepy environments.
After releasing a few cryptic yet unnerving live-action teasers for their next project, developer Frictional Games is now offering a new video of their upcoming game Soma which shows off some of its dark, foreboding locales.
The new video doesn’t feature any gameplay but it does reinforce the notion that Soma will be a first-person sci-fi horror game, not too surprising considering Frictional is the same studio that gave us the cult PC horror hit Amnesia: The Dark Descent. According to Frictional, delivering a compelling story is one of the key goals they want to achieve through Soma and they want to make sure that every element of the game, including the environments, helps them to do that.
Judging from the live-action trailers that were released earlier this year, Soma’s story will involve a crew working in space with machines that can predict the future (albeit in a terrifying way) and even project the personalities of real living people (which, again, can have strange and unnerving results). The first live-action teaser trailer can be watched below the environment trailer.
Sadly, any fans who have their interest piqued by Soma have a bit of a wait on their hands. Frictional has confirmed that Soma will be coming to both PC and PlayStation 4 but that the earliest it will be released is sometime in 2015.
