Fox Home Entertainment is giving gamers early access to Taken 2 via Digital HD download on Christmas.
Fox Home Entertainment unwraps the action-packed box office blockbuster, Taken 2, early for gamers. The Digital HD version of Taken 2 will be available to download or stream in high-definition across digital stores including Amazon Instant Video, CinemaNow, Google Play, iTunes, NOOK Video, PlayStation, VUDU, Xbox Video and YouTube beginning Christmas Day, December 25. The Blu-ray and DVD comes out January 15.
“America will wake up on Christmas morning to more than 16 million new connected devices under the tree this year, making it the year of the connected consumer,” said Mike Dunn, President, Fox Home Entertainment. “The unprecedented explosion of smartphones, tablets and smart TVs give Taken 2 a great runway to reach more than 110 million active movie viewers across all of our DIGITAL HD retail partners.”
“Our aim is simple: we want Taken 2 to be the first movie you enjoy on your new device on Christmas morning,” added Mary Daily, President of Worldwide Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer, Fox Home Entertainment. “Early access, HD quality and availability across digital stores at an affordable price are together a very compelling consumer proposition.”
The all-digital media campaign for Prometheus on Digital HD was the most extensive effort done to date for a digital movie release. Taken 2 on Digital HD will take the effort to the next level by extending into the broadcast realm. There will be a TV blitz on ABC and ESPN during the high profile NBA games on Christmas day, as well as take overs on Google, IGN, Gamefly, YouTube, among others.
