Nintendo announcing their partnership with Southwest Airlines with a Bang!

Nintendo and Southwest Airlines surprised everyone on board a flight from New Orleans to Dallas Love Field with Wii U gaming systems. Mario got on the P.A. on the plane and gave a special announcement. Now through Dec 22nd, Nintendo and Southwest have teamed up for gaming lounges in some of the busiest air ports around. Busy travelers will be able to take a load off and play some of the most popular Wii U games, like Super Mario 3D World, while waiting for their flight. Airports with the gaming lounges: Dallas Love Field, Chicago (Midway), Denver, Atlanta, Tampa Bay and St. Louis.

“No one is better than Nintendo and Southwest Airlines at bringing friends, families and fun together,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “As Southwest’s video game partner, our aim is to bring smiles to travelers and Southwest Employees through the fun of Nintendo video games.”

“Southwest Airlines continues to look for ways to have fun with our Customers and partnering with Nintendo will do just that,” said Kevin Krone, Southwest Airlines Chief Marketing Officer. “Much like Southwest, Nintendo delivers enjoyment and passion and we look forward to bringing the fun to our Customers nationwide.”

If you’re not traveling out of one of the six airports, you can enter a contest on the Southwest Airlines web site between now and Christmas and enter to win one of thirty prize packs, containing a pair of airline tickets and a Wii U.
