Monster Hunter 4 was a big success among other games as well for the gaming giant.
Capcom has recently posted their financial earnings in the six months of fiscal year ending March 31, 2014. Their net sales increased to 53,234 million yen (which is up to 16.9% from the previous year) along with posting some nice increases in profits with operating income increasing to 7,509 million yen (up 15.2% from previous year). Ordinary income saw the biggest increases percentage wise as it went up to 8,190 million yen (34.8% from the previous year).
Much of this success could be attributed towards the sales of Monster Hunter 4 seeing highest ever third party Nintendo 3DS title in Japan by seeing a shipment of 2.8 million units in the 'DIgital Contents' business. Other big hits that followed along were Resident Evil Revelations, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney- Dual Destinies and Devil May Cry 4 (in the Amusement Equipments business).
What was very interesting is that Capcom broke the record at all levels for the first half with sales and income for this 6 month period since the announcement period of mid-term financials started back with the fiscal year ending March 31, 2001.
With the release of the PS4 and Xbox One coming out soon, will we see Capcom continue their path of financial success?
