Senior producer Caleb Arseneaux talks with us about what to expect from the game later this month.

When Scribblenauts made a fine return to form last year with Scribblenauts Unlimited for Wii U, PC and Nintendo 3DS, fans were thrilled with it, taking Max on new adventures while conjuring up thousands of items with just a few choice terms. But you aren't prepared for what's next -- an adventure that combines the entertainment of Scribblenauts with the DC Comics universe. That's just what you'll be getting with Scribblenauts Unmasked when it arrives later this month.

We had a chance to sit down with senior producer Caleb Arseneaux to find out what to expect from this upcoming adventure. And yes, there are plenty of DC Comics favorites here..

What gave you guys the idea to combine the Scribblenauts universe with DC Comics'?  Was it a suggestion on their end, or yours?

Caleb: Scribblenauts has always let people play with the expanse of their own imagination. This means that we need to have everything from a fire-breathing dragon to a coffee table! We wanted more characters in the game, and the DC Comics Universe provided that exact opportunity.

How does the storyline work?  Does Max actually get to save the world alongside DC heroes or...?

Caleb: Maxwell and his sister Lily do pal up with the Justice League and other DC Comics Super Heroes in order to save the day, but you’ll have to play to find out more!

How deep is the DC universe within the game?  We've been hearing that even the most obscure characters have gone into it.  Tell us about the research that went into that.

Caleb: Well, we used a lot of reference material sent over from the DC Comics vault. They helped us determine which characters to include, how they should look and what sort of behavior that each character should have. We added over 2,000 total DC Comics objects from characters all the way to obscure vehicles that have made an appearance in the comics.
