Realta is developing a new guitar game with Slash, Rush and Heart.
Realta Entertainment Group is working with RAD Game Tools to incorporate Bink 2, the defacto video codec for games, in the development of the upcoming music video game BandFuse: Rock Legends. The game launches November 19 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The new game packs more than four feature length DVDs-worth of content onto a single disc. The videos include rock legend interviews from Slash, Zakk Wylde, Bootsy Collins, George Lynch and Five Finger Death Punch, instructional footage, and music videos in more than 55 playable songs. Realta’s development team is using RAD’s Bink 2 software, the next generation of HD video tools, in cross-platform development to compress the high-quality videos into less disc space.
“BandFuse is an extremely deep game with a ton of on-disc content,” said Mitch Soule, vice president of RAD Game Tools. “Realta’s team identified unique ways for Bink 2 to compress its immense content while retaining the video quality, compiling a ton of video content and delivering the extremely low latency they were striving for. The result is a robust music experience that fans will really appreciate.”
