We catch Samuel L. Jackson on the red carpet of the recent Spike TV VGA Awards and he's got some choice words for us. Viewer discretion advised!
I want to know what video games you play dude.
I don’t play any actually.
Did you play games as a kid though?
I played lots of video games when I was growing up (laughs hysterically).
What was your favorite one?
Uh, Pong.
Pong?
Oh, f*** no. Uh well, you know, I started out when video games first started. I was around when they had stuff you don’t even know about. Pong, and Space Invaders, and –
Atari?
Yea, Atari. You could break the joystick just by moving it to the left – or right. So, I played video games for a long time. I still play sports games like Tiger Woods’ Golf, and basketball, and, y’know, John Madden Football. I play those games, but I haven’t played, like, the games that have story lines. But the more I see ‘em, the more I’m kinda tempted to spend a little time seeing how that world works.
What’s your view on how video games have changed from then to now?
Well they’re a lot more expensive! You know, when I bought them for my daughter it’s like, “Really?” I could’ve taken you to a real, like, concert or something for this money.
What’s your daughter’s favorite game?
I don’t know. She uh, she likes those active games, so she stands up and dances with her friends, and they do all those, y’know, dance challenge games, and –
She’s a Kinect/Wii girl.
