Want to play as the descendent of famous GTA characters? Now you can in GTA V's online multiplayer as long as you pony up for the game's Collector's Edition.
In one of the strangest yet most intriguing exclusive content offerings, Rockstar has confirmed that GTA V players who spring for the game’s Collector’ Edition will be able to pick from characters in previous GTA games in GTA V’s new online hereditary-based character creation system.
The Grand Theft Auto V Collector’s Edition, which is available for a cool $150, contains a wide assortment of real life and in-game goodies (all of which can be seen on the following page). But the most interesting piece of in-game content by far ties into the game’s brand new hereditary-based character creation system.
According to Rockstar, when players create their characters in GTA V’s persistent online multiplayer mode, they’ll be able to pick their character’s parents from a pre-set list of different ethnicities and backgrounds and then use a special “gene dominance” meter to set which parent their character’s appearance favor’s more. Players who purchased GTA V’s Collector’s Edition will have a few extra parent options to choose from which include GTA IV protagonist Niko Bellic and GTA III’s Claude and Misty.
So what does this all mean? Well if you’ve ever secretly dreamed of playing as the son or daughter of Niko Bellic or silent protagonist Claude, you can as long as you secure yourself a copy of GTA V’s Collector’s Edition.
