Co-op shooter fans who have yet to experience the majesty of Borderlands 2 may soon be able to nab the game and all of its currently released DLC at a huge discount.
The insane over-the-top shooter sequel Borderlands 2 has only gotten crazier since its release thanks to a wealth of both free and paid DLC content. Now, if a new report is accurate, it looks like aspiring vault hunters will be able to snag the game and all of its currently released DLC in one Game of the Year package.
While developer Gearbox Software has yet to confirm the game’s GOTY edition’s existence, gaming site IGN recently received a picture of a marketing booklet from a GameStop employee (seen above) which showcases the Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition in all its glory.
The GOTY Edition will apparently contain all of Borderlands 2’s currently released DLC which includes:
- Creature Slaughter Dome
- Psycho Pack
- Captain Scarlet’s And Her Pirate’s Booty
- Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt
- Mister Torgue’s Campaign Of Carnage
- Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep
- Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade
- Mechromancer Pack
Sadly it doesn’t look like the GOTY edition will include the recently announced T.K. Baha’s Blood Harvest DLC pack but that doesn’t mean Gearbox couldn’t slip it in before the GOTY Edition’s release.
The Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition sounds like a great deal for those who have yet to dive into the zany world of Borderlands 2, but there doesn’t appear to be much incentive for fans who already own the above DLC packs. Still, if you have a friend who you think would enjoy Borderlands 2 and you want to buy them the game plus all the DLC without breaking the bank, the GOTY Edition will undoubtedly be a welcome boon.
Since Gearbox has yet to formally announce the GOTY Edition, its price and date of availability are still unknown but if/when Gearbox does bring it out of the shadows, I’m sure they’ll have a price and date in mind.
