Monolith Studios and Warner Bros. are offering Guardians of Middle-Earth console players a free upgrade to the upcoming PC Steam release.
Players who purchased Monolith Studios’ Lord of the Rings-themed MOBA Guardians of Middle-Earth for either PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 will be able to snag a copy of the game’s upcoming PC Steam release for free.
The PC Steam version, which is being ported over with the help of Blacklight: Retribution developer Zombie Studios, will come with all of the current content updates and DLC of the console version including the new Mirkwood map and Survival co-op game mode. Exclusive to the PC version will be alternate skins for all of the game’s current 36-character roster which will be purchasable through Steam.
Those who want to try the game out on PC and who have already purchased the game digitally via PSN or Xbox Live can do so but only as long as certain criteria are met: the game has to have been purchased before August 15th, 2013 (yesterday) and the player has to have completed at least one match in order to be eligible for the free PC transfer.
Guardians of Middle-Earth is currently set to release for PC via Steam on August 29th, 2013.
