Even thought we haven't seen either in action yet, Warner Bros. has confirmed that Dying Light will have both robust weapon crafting and four-player co-op.
According to a new fact sheet for Warner Bros. and Techland’s upcoming parkour/zombie survival game Dying Light, the game will have a lot of similarities to Techland’s other major zombie franchise Dead Island.
The fact sheet, which was released by Warner Bros. in anticipation of the game’s playable build at this year’s Gamescom, doesn’t really reveal anything major that we didn’t already know but it does confirm a few details which fans may be excited about.
Dying Light will be both a current and next-gen release with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions planned. It will feature one to four-player co-op and each of the four playable characters will be “fully customizable and upgradable to match any play style” (I assume this means they’ll have different skill trees and maybe even different cosmetic options). Much like in Dead Island, weapon crafting will be a major gameplay component and will allow players to craft a variety of different basic and exotic melee and ranged weapons.
We won’t get to see any of these features in action until Gamescom but it’s nice to know which of them are set in stone. Dying Light is currently set for a 2014 release though nothing more specific can be confirmed at this time.
