It looks like Microsoft may have accidently given away the release date for the Xbox One if a new listing on the official Xbox website is to be believed.

An updated listing for upcoming Xbox One shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts may have inadvertently given away the Xbox One’s release date.

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7e58kc1YAPc?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The new listing tags Ghosts with a release date of November 5th and both the banner above the game’s title along with the included picture of the game’s box make it pretty obvious that the listing is for the game’s Xbox One version and not the current-gen Xbox 360 which is also planned. Since Call of Duty: Ghosts was previously confirmed to be a launch title for the Xbox One, a case could be made that November 5th will also be the day that Microsoft plans to release their next-gen console to the public.

As with all rumors and leaks, a grain of salt must be taken with this new listing as it could simply be nothing more than a case of internal mixed messaging over at Microsoft or it might just be a “placeholder” date to start stirring up some buzz. Microsoft has yet to confirm or deny the new listing’s accuracy, but until they do, Xbox fans should keep their expectations tempered.
