After earlier reports hinted at an Xbox One "reintroduction" press event, Microsoft has come out to put those rumors to rest.

Earlier this week, we reported that Microsoft was planning on hosting another press event to “reintroduce” their next-gen Xbox One console to the public. Now it would seem that’s not the case according to Microsoft.

Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb confirmed via Reddit this morning that any reports and rumors of a new Xbox One press event were “not legitimate.” The event was supposedly going to be publicly announced by vice president of Microsoft Game Studios Phil Spencer and corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment Phil Harrison as a way to seek out a "fresh start in Microsoft’s relationship with the media and consumers" but now it would seem those rumors were just that: rumors.

That’s not to say Microsoft hasn’t had *any* announcements to make; the company recently confirmed that they’re developing headset adapters for the Xbox One which will allow players to use their current-gen headsets on the next-gen console. Microsoft also has yet to officially comment on whether or not they’re planning to release an alternate version of the Xbox One which will be able to match the PlayStation 4’s $399 price point.
