Planteside 2 is getting its thirteenth game update next week and with it a lot of exciting new additions and changes.
Game update 13 is right around the corner for Sony Online Entertainment’s large-scale MMO shooter Planetside 2 and it looks like it’s going to be a big one.
In a new post on the official Planetside 2 forums, creative director Matt Higby outlines the new update which will include amongst other things a complete facelift for the snowy Esamir region and its facilities, new implants and weapons, and much needed changes for both spawning and platoon mechanics.
The Esamir region will have virtually all of its facilities and outposts updated with an enhanced layout and look with some being replaced entirely. New implants will include health regeneration, reduction to fall damage, enhanced targeting capabilities, and abilities that can hide a player from systems such as thermal vision and radar/motion sensors amongst others.
Individual players will be able to automatically join a squad by using a squad spawn point and platoon leaders will have much more control over who can utilize their platoon’s voice chat channels. Several new pistols and SMG’s such as the “Desperado”, the “Cerberus”, and the “Inquisitor” will provide more secondary options to players hoping to expand their arsenal.
The changes are up and running now on the game’s public test server and Higby encourages players to give them a try before the update goes live next week. The full list of changes can be found at the link below.
