Valve has officially ushered in its annual Steam Summer Sale with a bevvy of discounts on hit PC titles.
It’s that magical time of the summer for PC gamers when Valve throws open the digital doors of their popular Steam platform and ushers in a whole heaping of sales and discounts.
The Steam Summer Sale officially began yesterday afternoon and is set to continue until July 22 so if you’ve got some cash to burn, keep an eye out for any Steam games you’ve been hankering to buy. As usual, the sale offers both 24-hour daily deals (the first of which expire in only a few hours so act fast!) and an 8-hour rotation of “flash” deals as well as community choice sales which users can vote for.
Even better, Valve is making their recently launched Steam Trading Cards service an integral part of the sale by offering special cards and badges for users who buy certain games and who routinely vote for the next community choice. Many new games have also gotten Steam Trading Card support such as Trion Worlds’ sci-fi MMO shooter Defiance (which is currently on sale for 66% off at $13.59), Hotline Miami (which is sitting pretty at $2.49 after a 75% price cut), and Irrational Games’ skyward epic Bioshock Infinite (which can be had for $29.99 thanks to its 50% discount).
The total list of discounted games, DLC, and other goodies is too massive to contain in a single news post so head on over to Steam and browse to your heart’s content to see what deals await you.
