Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures takes a page out of old school marketing: video game, TV show, and then a toy line.
Differences between the Wii U version and the 3DS version range from the Wii U version being 3rd person and having the same look as the TV show and the 3DS version will be side scrolling. It will also be geared toward a younger audience and will have easier gameplay. The story mode has about 8 hrs. of gameplay and fans of Pac Man, young and old, will not want to pass this up. It wasn’t just about the new Pac Man game as classic Pac Man gameplay was front and center at Namco Bandai as well. Pac Man Championship Edition DX+ is the free upgraded version of Championship edition and will be available late in the summer. There will be competitive multiplayer as well as a Personal Progress Report Screen to see how your score has progressed over time. There will also be DLC for the game such as Dig Dug assuming the role of Pac Man and the new 3D model from the TV show. The power pellets on the map chart a different path than the original map. The longer the trail of ghosts, the more points you get when you eat the power pellet.
The last Pac Man game shown was the Pac Man Museum. Not all the games were shown off but three games were shown. They were the 80’s original, the Modern Pac Man game/Championship edition, and the Battle Royale/Arcade edition. The game will be on PS3/Xbox 360/Wii U/3DS/ and Steam and will be available in the winter. It’s save to say that I agree with Namco Bandai that Pac is Back!
