New Pokémon and a new gym leader from the Kalos region.
It wouldn’t be a Pokémon world if there weren’t gym leaders to fight and Pokémon X and Y is no different. The first city you encounter with a gym leader is Santalune City, home to the Pokémon photographer/gym leader Viola. You’ll learn info from Viola’s sister, Alexa, who is a journalist working out of Lumiose City. She tells you that Viola will be happy to meet players who are visiting the city. The gym is designed like a spider-spun web all over the place. You’ll have to find a safe path to get to Viola.
There were new Pokémon recently discovered from the Kalos region. Litleo, the Fire/Normal type Pokémon. Litleo can learn a new normal type attack, Noble Roar, that intimidates foes as well as lowers their attack. Flabébé, the Fairy type Pokémon, will be seen clinging to a flower and wild Flabébé will have different colored flowers. Flabébé learns a new move called Fairy Wind that will blow a strong wind that is strong against dragons. Scatterbug, a new bug type, will have string shot and will evolve into Spewpa. By knowing protect, this bug family appears to be the Caterpie/Metapod family this generation. Spewpa eventually evolves into Vivillon who will learn Struggle Bug, a powerful bug type move. Fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the games to come out, as October is right around the corner!
