How did Microsoft do at selling the Xbox One to gamers at E3?
Other than a few hiccups at the end of their conference as well as lack of response to the criticism that the Xbox One and Microsoft has received. I think that the Xbox One E3 conference was a big success. It played to the hordes of Xbox One fanboys by offering them glimpses of their staple titles such as Halo as well as showing off new IPs such as Ryse. I think the idea of giving Xbox Gold memebers two free games per month is a good idea albeit slightly late in the game. Titles such as Halo 3 might appeal to gamers who are not hardcore FPS fans but to many Xbox gamers they were left with wanting more from the new feature such as more current titles. Do I think that the Xbox One will fail? No. Do I think that it has very large hurdles ahead of it in order for it to be successful? Yes. There is no doubt in my mind that Microsoft will have a successful launch with the Xbox One it is currently the #2 top video game purchase on Amazon.com trailing only the Playstation 4. But after launch is when a console is deemed successful, being able to have gamers who have been either strictly a Playstation fan or the casual gamer who does not have a console preference Microsoft will struggle to appeal to them especially if they have any issue with the limitations that are put on the Xbox One.
It will be interesting to see how the E3 conference persuaded gamers or turned away other from choosing the Xbox One as their Next-gen console of choice.
