Square Enix has confirmed the existence of Nosgoth but has also revealed it won't be exactly the game fans may have been hoping for.
Publisher Square Enix has finally confirmed the existence of a new game which is set in the popular Legacy of Kain universe. However, the game, titled Nosgoth, is not exactly what fans may have been hoping for.
Square Enix community manager George Kelion released a statement to VG247 confirming Nosgoth is in active development but quickly tempered the hopes of fans by saying that not only is Nosgoth *not* being developed by Legacy of Kain creators Crystal Dynamics but that instead of being a story-driven single-player experience it will instead be a multiplayer-focused title.
"Nosgoth exists and is in active development, but is not a traditional Legacy of Kain action-adventure game. Nosgoth is set in the same universe as previous LoK games, but on a different branch to the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver series. The community should not be thinking of Nosgoth in terms of a single-player experience."
Kelion bore even more bad news as he stated that not only is Crystal Dynamics not working on Nosgoth, they’re not working on a Legacy of Kain game, period. He also confirmed that Nosgoth will not be at this year’s E3 convention.
