Nathan Hermanson has been gaming and writing since he was a wee child. For some reason, he always felt the two events were mutually exclusive. Writing was writing and gaming was gaming. When it came time to choose a career, he floundered around before realizing that his two passions could actually be combined. Since then, he has worked on multiple websites, both as a freelance writer and as Editor-in-Chief. Nathan loves point and click adventure games and games that take risks.

Yeah. He's one of those guys.

Ninja Theory, developers of DmC and Enslaved, join the mobile market with Fightback.

Over the past few years, mobile gaming has more than evolved into a viable platform for the hardcore gamer. Games like Angry Birds and Temple Run dominate the mobile market because of their simplicity and ease of play, but more complex titles, like Need for Speed and Sonic the Hedgehog, have begun to showcase that smart phones can even compete with your handhelds.

Big or small, developers cannot ignore the platform.

To echo that message, Ninja Theory, developers of the critically successful DmC, announced that they are partnering up with mobile giant Chillingo to develop an all new mobile title called "Fightback".

"Fightback" is said to carry an 80's action movie inspired theme and will feature a "revolutionary touch-based combat system"

Ninja Theory is hot on the heels of their biggest release yet, DmC, and while there is no doubt that they are hard at work on another AAA release, it is interesting that they chose to give the pre-E3 spotlight to a mobile title. If anything, it just shows their confidence in the platform and in "Fightback" itself.

“Mobile and tablet gaming is a phenomenon that we just couldn’t ignore as a studio and we’re very proud to be working with one of the industry’s heavy-weights on bringing Fightback to market. Ninja Theory has always strived for the highest production values and that absolutely remains the case in this exciting new space,” said Dominic Matthews, the product manager of Ninja Theory.

With Chillingo at their side, Ninja Theory will no doubt produce a quality mobile title. Set for release later this summer on both iPhone and Android, the free-to-play title "Fightback" looks to interest gamers of all sorts.
