While Nintendo may have pulled out holding an E3 press conference, they still plan on having a major presence at the event.
Nintendo has found success with its Nintendo Direct video series over the last few years. Using the video platform for major announcements, the company had effectively cut out the middle man when it came to delivering news for their consumers.
The true power of their system did not come to light until Nintendo announced that they had pulled out of their regular press conference slot at E3, and that they planned on holding more personal Nintendo Direct-like events throughout the entirety of the expo. Nintendo even promised to bring E3 to the public in the form of demo stations featuring their big announcements at Best Buys around the country.
Today, Nintendo announced that their first major E3 event would take place on June 11th at 7AM PST, in the form of a Nintendo Direct focused on Wii U titles.
In fact, with the E3 floorplan being released recently, it was revealed that Nintendo would have a fairly big presence on the showfloor as well. Two booths?
Nintendo seems fairly confident in its decision making and they haven't gone wrong yet. E3 is a few short weeks away and only then can the final judgment be made.
